l    Creator and curator of www.plantstress.com - web site dedicated to plant environmental stress in plant biology and agriculture (2000-).

l    Consultant to the Rockefeller Foundation on "Food for the Poor" projects in Asia dealing with crop improvement for water-limited conditions (2000- 2005).

l   Chair of the 'Interdrought-II' International Conference, Rome 2005.

l   Chair of the 'Interdrought-III' International Conference, Shanghai, China 2009.

l   Consultant for GCP project on “Inventory of drought phenotyping resources and capacity for the GCP” and GCP “Drought Phenotyping Network for the GCP” (2006-2007).

l   Consultant for GCP project on “Drought Phenotyping Network for the GCP” (2008).
