长期从事植物分子生物学基础研究。在遗传作图、果实离区发育、基因组学及生物信息学等方面有较高造诣。曾获2002年中国自然科学基金海外青年学者合作研究基金,并于2003年获王宽诚奖学金。2004年回国后,先后参加了国家高技术研究发展计划(863计划)、“973”国家重点基础研究项目,并主持国家高技术研究发展计划(863计划)重大项目“小麦抗病性状功能基因组研究”
、国家自然基金“控制番茄果实离区发育转录因子工作模式的研究”、国际合作研究“挑战计划”等课题。其学术成就包括一篇第一作者的Nature论文和三篇合作作者Science论文,及第一作者的Genome
Research, Plant Physiology和Genetics等SCI论文10余篇。
